!Women Art Revolution

Lynn Hershman Leeson's much anticipated !Women Art Revolution will begin playing in the Bay Area this Thursday August 26th. Through intimate interviews, art, and rarely seen archival film and video footage, WAR reveals how the Feminist Art Movement fused free speech and politics into an art that radically transformed the art and culture of our times. Leeson has been collecting these interviews of her contemporaries for the past forty years and has shaped them into an intimate portrayal of "their fight to break down barriers facing women both in the art world and society at large."
