Starting last month, one 01SJ Biennial artist will be featured as a speaker in the monthly LASER (Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous) series, organized by Leonardo ISAST. The series, which is currently chaired by piero scaruffi, is a really interesting local forum for presenting art and science projects underway in the Bay Area that are creative, original and interdisciplinary in nature. Each evening, free of charge and open to the public, presents up to four artists, scientists, philosophers, historians, inventors and scholars.
Tonight's LASER begins at 7pm at the SETI Institute (515 N. Whisman Road, Mountain View, California) and includes a presentation by 01SJ 'San Jose Urban Game' artist Ken Eklund where he will be talking about ZOROP, an urban game he is creating with Annette Mees that was commissioned by ZER01 for the 2010 01SJ Biennial.
With each new Biennial the expectation is that we grow; we get better, have more resources and can ultimately achieve more. That certainly seems to be the case this year; having an incredible team that includes staff, interns, volunteers and consultants - makes all the difference in the world.
