Jaime Austin, Curator & Director of Programs
Jaime Austin is the Curator and Director of Programs for ZERO1: The Art & Technology Network and is the lead curator of the 2012 ZER01 Biennial. She was the Assistant Curator of the 2010 01SJ Biennial and co-curated the Biennial’s central exhibition Out of the Garage Into the World. Jaime grew up in Silicon Valley and has always felt that art and technology go together like peanut butter and jelly (her favorite sandwich). Before shifting her focus on the arts full-time, Jaime held product development and marketing positions in the tech industry at companies such as Macromedia and Adobe. Jaime received her M.A. in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts and holds joint bachelor degrees in Art History and Computer Information Systems from Santa Clara University. Joel Slayton, Executive Director
He took the helm of ZERO1 in June of 2008 after serving as a both a board member for the organization and chairperson of ISEA2006, which was held in conjunction with the inaugural 01SJ Biennial. An artist, writer and researcher, Joel is a full tenured professor at San Jose State University where he served as Director of the CADRE Laboratory for New Media from 1988 to 2008. Established in 1984 CADRE is one of the oldest and most prestigious centers in the United States dedicated to the development of experimental applications involving information technology and art. Michela Pilo, Office Manager
Michela oversees all day-to-day office operations and provides support to ZER01 directors and staff, including coordinating and managing all purchasing, assisting with vendor relations, providing basic accounting, and executing general executive assistant tasks. Michela’s strong visual style, her ability to assimilate and integrate new technology, and her organizational skills have proven integral to the success of the organization. Read more |

Sarah Beth Nesbit, Marketing Director
Sarah Beth works within the Marketing Department at ZERO1 cultivating new relationships and providing all around marketing support. She brings a broad artistic perspective to the table with her background in fine arts, industrial arts and her Masters in Public Art. Sarah Beth has assisted with numerous art organizations and events including the 2010 ZERO1 Biennial, 2008 California Biennial, 2008 Women in the City, and Absolutely Public, Crossover: Art and Architecture in Brisbane Australia. Serlin Quah, Development Coordinator
Serlin works in development researching grants, funding opportunities and providing all round support to build the development arm within ZER01. In a past life she crafted promotional campaigns for various restaurant chains in Singapore, which helped fuel a passion for food and cooking. Since then she has helped launched Domino magazine, and helped fine tune various consumer brands. Her alter ego thrives on yoga, knitting, design blogs, and she has a healthy obsession with pretty shoes and gelato. Read more |
